Let’s make Japanese music to your ears

Who is this website for?

1. No time to study?

Lend us your ears! Let’s build a habit of immersing yourself in Japanese with fun in your spare time, like cooking or commuting.

2. Don’t use Japanese daily because you don’t live in Japan?

Use online resources that match your level and interests outside of lessons.

3. Confident in reading but not in listening or speaking?

Native content might be too challenging for now. In my podcast episodes and lessons, I try to adjust my speech, for example, speaking clearly at a moderate speed, optimizing word choice, and adding synonyms and antonyms for clarity.

4. Get bored studying only with a textbook?

Use online resources that match your level and interests outside of lessons.

5. Stumble in the middle of a sentence when speaking?

Remember words in chunks and common collocations in context. Songs carry a story to tell!

6. Forget what you learned last week?

This is super common. I try to include what was covered in the previous episode in the next one. It’s important to learn new words in different contexts multiple times! Visualizing a story or a song in your mind and singing along helps your brain too!

Japanese Podcast

Let’s learn Japanese through songs! I recommend using this podcast as a reference or review of lesson content. The main idea is to immerse yourself in Japanese more during your spare time. So far, I’ve mainly recorded episodes focusing on children’s songs because they are easy to listen to—they don’t have slang, tend to be slower, have recurring lyrics, and the background music isn’t too loud. However, I may create more episodes featuring other songs like J-Pop in the future. Another reason I use kids’ songs relates to my personal life. Since my baby was born, I’ve been listening to more Japanese children’s songs and realized they are actually great learning resources and a lot of fun! I hope you enjoy this show while learning about Japanese culture.
